Poshshoo Pirim (Podshohpirim) Mausoleum Complex

Checked by an editor
According to UNESCO 6649 it is a complex in Buvayda district, Fergana region, made up of a 15th-16th-century mausoleum with inscriptions on its wall, a Mongol-period cemetery and a tower added in the 19th century; it does not name the person buried there.

Differing Scholarly Views

The identity of the person in the mausoleum is unclear and the sources disagree on period: DİA HÜVEYDÂ writes that Khoja Muhyi Ahmad, son of Afaq Khoja, was 'popularly called Pashsha Pirim' (in an 18th-century Fergana context), whereas UNESCO 6649 dates the mausoleum to the 15th-16th centuries and names no one; the name 'Muhammad Jalil Podshohpirim' in the Uzbek heritage register could not be confirmed by an academic source. The atlas links none of these identities to the mausoleum and records the building in the sources' own words.
