DİA records that he was born in the village of Baghistan in the foothills near Tashkent and gives no burial place; a mausoleum attributed to him is shown locally at Baghistan (Bog'iston) village, Bostanliq district (OSM pin, no second independent datum).
Differing Scholarly Views
Sources differ on Umar Baghistani's death date. Sources: DİA writes that the date could not be established and that he may be said to have died in the first half of the 14th century; the ÖAW blog (Sultonov) gives 'd. 1291'. Neither source gives his burial place. The atlas records both dates with their sources and passes no judgement.
