An arch-prophet sent to the Children of Israel, called 'Kalimullah' for having spoken with God. The Mamluk maqam (built by Sultan Baybars, 668 AH) about 11 km south of Jericho is an important ziyaret site and host of the famous Nabi Musa mawsim (pilgrimage festival). His burial place is disputed: Islam holds his true grave unknown, and the biblical tradition places Moses' tomb at Mount Nebo in Jordan.
