The Lingshan 'Holy Tombs' in Quanzhou are among China's oldest Islamic sites, traditionally said to hold two of four companions (known only by the Chinese names Sa-Ke-Zu and Wu-Ko-Shun) sent eastward by the Prophet. They are documented from the 14th century (Arab Muslims repaired them in 1322-23; Zheng He reportedly left a stele in 1417). Scholarship treats the companion attribution as a Hui legend that crystallized in the late-Ming/early-Qing era — a 'companion sent by the Prophet' in the 610s is chronologically impossible. It is a National Protected Site (1988) and a UNESCO World Heritage component of 'Quanzhou' (2021).
