Sheikh Hamed al-Nil was a leading 19th-century sheikh of the Qadiriyya order in Sudan (exact death year unverified in sources). His tomb and mosque in western Omdurman are the focus of the celebrated weekly Friday Sufi dhikr and whirling-dervish ceremonies. The present tomb-mosque structure was built in 1936.
