Çağırgan Baba is venerated as an important spiritual figure of the Gümüşhane region; tradition holds he came from Khorasan as a dervish in the Güvenç Abdal tradition. His tomb in Tekke village, about 13 km east of central Gümüşhane, was built in Receb 990/1582 under Murad III per its inscription, a domed square-plan Ottoman tomb, and is visited.
