Sidi Mahrez (Mahrez ibn Khalaf), patron saint of Tunis, a Maliki jurist, qadi, poet and Sufi. He studied in Kairouan and Fatimid Egypt before settling in Tunis. He died in 413/1022; his mausoleum in the Tunis medina remains a major place of visitation. (Sources: TDV; Wikidata Q3301827.)
