Şeyh Osman Niyazi Efendi was born in 1828 in Kolekli village, Güneyce (İkizdere), Rize. A khalifa of Ahmed Ziyaeddin Gümüşhanevi, he was sent to guide the Eastern Black Sea and built a wooden mosque-lodge at Kolekli (1888).
