A Persian (of Qom origin) merchant and scholar who settled in the Ayutthaya Kingdom in the early 17th century. Rising through trade and state service, he was appointed the first Chularajmontri (Shaykh al-Islam and royal adviser) of Siam's Muslims under King Songtham.
