A Kubrawi Sufi, scholar and poet from Hamadan who played a major role in spreading Islam in Kashmir and Central Asia, honored as 'Amir-i Kabir' and 'Shah-i Hamadan'. He died in 1384 and was buried in Kulob (present-day Tajikistan); his gold-domed mausoleum is the principal pilgrimage site at the city's heart.
