Ismail Rumi, pir of the Rumiyye branch of the Qadiriyya order; after founding some forty-eight lodges across Egypt, Anatolia and the Balkans, he came to Istanbul in 1611 and established the Kadirihane Asitane in Tophane. He died in 1631 and was buried in the courtyard cemetery of his lodge.
