Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Ismail al-Bukhari, compiler of the Sahih al-Bukhari, the most authentic hadith collection. Born in Bukhara, he died at Hartang near Samarkand. His grave is now the centre of a large memorial complex. (Sources: TDV; Wikidata Q12820736.)
