A leading jurist and Sufi of the Tihama, after whom the town of Bayt al-Faqih ('house of the jurist') is named. He stood at the center of a circle combining Shafiʿi jurisprudence and Sufism. He died in 690/1291 and is buried in a domed mausoleum in the village of al-Turba within the Bayt al-Faqih district.
