Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Ali, a major Sufi as well as a Shafii jurist and theologian. His works on walaya deeply influenced Sufi thought; he founded the Hakimi current. He died in Termez. His mausoleum, on the Amu Darya northwest of Termez, was built in the 11th-15th centuries and restored.
