According to tradition the spiritual teacher of Ahmed Yasawi who delivered to him a date entrusted by the Prophet; said to have died in the Otrar region in the 12th century, though his historical identity is largely legendary. His mausoleum is the customary first stop for pilgrims to the Yasawi complex.
