A leading Naqshbandi Sufi master and political leader, great-grandson of Ahmad Kasani, who founded the Afaqiyya ('White Mountain Khojas'). With Dzungar backing he helped conquer the Yarkent Khanate in 1678 and ruled Kashgaria as a vassal, spreading Naqshbandi Sufism into Gansu and Qinghai.
