بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْغَٰشِيَةِ
hel etâke ḥadîŝü-lgâşiyeh.
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]?
وُجُوهٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَٰشِعَةٌ
vucûhüy yevmeiẕin ḫâşi`ah.
[Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled,
عَامِلَةٌۭ نَّاصِبَةٌۭ
`âmiletün nâṣibeh.
Working [hard] and exhausted.
تَصْلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةًۭ
taṣlâ nâran ḥâmiyeh.
They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire.
تُسْقَىٰ مِنْ عَيْنٍ ءَانِيَةٍۢ
tüsḳâ min `aynin âniyeh.
They will be given drink from a boiling spring.
لَّيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِن ضَرِيعٍۢ
leyse lehüm ṭa`âmün illâ min ḍarî`.
For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant
لَّا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِى مِن جُوعٍۢ
lâ yüsminü velâ yugnî min cû`.
Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger.
وُجُوهٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ نَّاعِمَةٌۭ
vucûhüy yevmeiẕin nâ`imeh.
[Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure.
لِّسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌۭ
lisa`yihâ râḍiyeh.
With their effort [they are] satisfied
فِى جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍۢ
fî cennetin `âliyeh.
In an elevated garden,
لَّا تَسْمَعُ فِيهَا لَٰغِيَةًۭ
lâ tesme`u fîhâ lâgiyeh.
Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech.
فِيهَا عَيْنٌۭ جَارِيَةٌۭ
fîhâ `aynün câriyeh.
Within it is a flowing spring.
فِيهَا سُرُرٌۭ مَّرْفُوعَةٌۭ
fîhâ sürurum merfû`ah.
Within it are couches raised high
وَأَكْوَابٌۭ مَّوْضُوعَةٌۭ
veekvâbüm mevḍû`ah.
And cups put in place
وَنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوفَةٌۭ
venemâriḳu maṣfûfeh.
And cushions lined up
وَزَرَابِىُّ مَبْثُوثَةٌ
vezerâbiyyü mebŝûŝeh.
And carpets spread around.
أَفَلَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَى ٱلْإِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْ
efelâ yenżurûne ile-l'ibili keyfe ḫuliḳat.
Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created?
وَإِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ
veile-ssemâi keyfe rufi`at.
And at the sky - how it is raised?
وَإِلَى ٱلْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ
veile-lcibâli keyfe nüṣibet.
And at the mountains - how they are erected?
وَإِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ
veile-l'arḍi keyfe süṭiḥat.
And at the earth - how it is spread out?
فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُذَكِّرٌۭ
feẕekkir innemâ ente müẕekkir.
So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder.
لَّسْتَ عَلَيْهِم بِمُصَيْطِرٍ
leste `aleyhim bimüṣayṭir.
You are not over them a controller.
إِلَّا مَن تَوَلَّىٰ وَكَفَرَ
illâ men tevellâ vekefera.
However, he who turns away and disbelieves -
فَيُعَذِّبُهُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَكْبَرَ
feyü`aẕẕibühü-llâhü-l`aẕâbe-l'ekber.
Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment.
إِنَّ إِلَيْنَآ إِيَابَهُمْ
inne ileynâ iyâbehüm.
Indeed, to Us is their return.
ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا حِسَابَهُم
ŝümme inne `aleynâ ḥisâbehüm.
Then indeed, upon Us is their account.
