A Naqshbandi shaykh and spiritual guide born in Harput (1894), one of the last khalifas of İmam Efendi (Osman Bedreddin Erzurûmî). Having finished teacher-training school he served for a time as a French teacher and was also a skilled calligrapher. Upon his master's death in 1929 he succeeded him as postnishin and continued spiritual guidance. When Harput emptied and its people moved down to Mezraa (Elazığ) he too settled in Elazığ; he died on 25 March 1967 and was buried in the Meteris Cemetery of Harput, in a five-columned domed tomb some 30-40 metres north of the İmam Efendi tomb.
