Born in Badaun to a sayyid family from Bukhara, the foremost Chishti shaykh of Delhi. Made khalifa by Fariduddin Ganjshakar, he founded his khanqah in Ghiyaspur and trained hundreds of successors. Through disciples like Amir Khusrow he spread the order across India. (Sources: TDV; Wikipedia.)
