Born in Fergana, chief khalifa of Mu'in al-Din Chishti and the order's representative in Delhi. He won the respect of Sultan Iltutmish and declined the chief judgeship to live ascetically. His shrine in Mehrauli, near the Qutb Minar, is the oldest dargah in Delhi. (Sources: TDV; Wikipedia.)
