iẕe-ssemâü-nşeḳḳat.
When the sky has split [open]
veeẕinet lirabbihâ veḥuḳḳat.
And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so]
veiẕe-l'arḍu müddet.
And when the earth has been extended
veelḳat mâ fîhâ veteḫallet.
And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it]
veeẕinet lirabbihâ veḥuḳḳat.
And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] -
yâ eyyühe-l'insânü inneke kâdiḥun ilâ rabbike kedḥan femülâḳîh.
O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it.
feemmâ men ûtiye kitâbehû biyemînih.
Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand,
fesevfe yüḥâsebü ḥisâbey yesîrâ.
He will be judged with an easy account
veyenḳalibü ilâ ehlihî mesrûrâ.
And return to his people in happiness.
veemmâ men ûtiye kitâbehû verâe żahrih.
But as for he who is given his record behind his back,
fesevfe yed`û ŝübûrâ.
He will cry out for destruction
veyaṣlâ se`îrâ.
And [enter to] burn in a Blaze.
innehû kâne fî ehlihî mesrûrâ.
Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness;
innehû żanne el ley yeḥûr.
Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah].
belâ. inne rabbehû kâne bihî beṣîrâ.
But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing.
felâ uḳsimü bişşefeḳ.
So I swear by the twilight glow
velleyli vemâ veseḳa.
And [by] the night and what it envelops
velḳameri iẕe-tteseḳa.
And [by] the moon when it becomes full
leterkebünne ṭabeḳan `an ṭabaḳ.
[That] you will surely experience state after state.
femâ lehüm lâ yü'minûn.
So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe,
veiẕâ ḳurie `aleyhimü-lḳur'ânü lâ yescüdûn.
And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]?
beli-lleẕîne keferû yükeẕẕibûn.
But those who have disbelieved deny,
vellâhü a`lemü bimâ yû`ûn.
And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves.
febeşşirhüm bi`aẕâbin elîm.
So give them tidings of a painful punishment,
ille-lleẕîne âmenû ve`amilu-ṣṣâliḥâti lehüm ecrun gayru memnûn.
Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted.
