بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
- 1
إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنفَطَرَتْ
iẕe-ssemâü-nfeṭarat.
When the sky breaks apart
- 2
وَإِذَا ٱلْكَوَاكِبُ ٱنتَثَرَتْ
veiẕe-lkevâkibü-nteŝerat.
And when the stars fall, scattering,
- 3
وَإِذَا ٱلْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ
veiẕe-lbiḥâru füccirat.
And when the seas are erupted
- 4
وَإِذَا ٱلْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ
veiẕe-lḳubûru bü`ŝirat.
And when the [contents of] graves are scattered,
- 5
عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌۭ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ
`alimet nefsüm mâ ḳaddemet veeḫḫarat.
A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back.
- 6
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ ٱلْكَرِيمِ
yâ eyyühe-l'insânü mâ garrake birabbike-lkerîm.
O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous,
- 7
ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّىٰكَ فَعَدَلَكَ
elleẕî ḫaleḳake fesevvâke fe`adelek.
Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you?
- 8
فِىٓ أَىِّ صُورَةٍۢ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَ
fî eyyi ṣûratim mâ şâe rakkebek.
In whatever form He willed has He assembled you.
- 9
كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِٱلدِّينِ
kellâ bel tükeẕẕibûne biddîn.
No! But you deny the Recompense.
- 10
وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَٰفِظِينَ
veinne `aleyküm leḥâfiżîn.
And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers,
- 11
كِرَامًۭا كَٰتِبِينَ
kirâmen kâtibîn.
Noble and recording;
- 12
يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ
ya`lemûne mâ tef`alûn.
They know whatever you do.
- 13
إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ لَفِى نَعِيمٍۢ
inne-l'ebrâra lefî ne`îm.
Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure,
- 14
وَإِنَّ ٱلْفُجَّارَ لَفِى جَحِيمٍۢ
veinne-lfüccâra lefî ceḥîm.
And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire.
- 15
يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ
yaṣlevnehâ yevme-ddîn.
They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense,
- 16
وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَآئِبِينَ
vemâ hüm `anhâ bigâibîn.
And never therefrom will they be absent.
- 17
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ
vemâ edrâke mâ yevmü-ddîn.
And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?
- 18
ثُمَّ مَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ
ŝümme mâ edrâke mâ yevmü-ddîn.
Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?
- 19
يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌۭ لِّنَفْسٍۢ شَيْـًۭٔا ۖ وَٱلْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلَّهِ
yevme lâ temlikü nefsül linefsin şey'â. vel'emru yevmeiẕil lillâh.
It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah.
