A Sufi who came from Bukhara in Central Asia and settled in 1845 at Kataragama, revered by Muslims as the 'land of al-Khidr' (Khidr-gama). He spent a long life in solitude, remembrance, worship and voluntary poverty. His mausoleum is one of the most prominent features of the Islamic precinct at Kataragama, said to be surrounded by some sixty unmarked graves of Muslim pilgrims. His exact death date is not recorded in the sources.
