Hasan Dede (Hasandede) was a 16th-century mystic among the Horasan dervishes in the path of Hoca Ahmed Yesevî. A 1578 decree indicates he came from Horasan via Karaman to the village now named after him near Kırıkkale. His tomb stands beside the Hasandede Mosque (1605); the first tomb by the minaret is his, the second holds his sons and daughter. It is an important regional pilgrimage center.
