Asma bint Abi Bakr al-Siddiq was a female Companion: daughter of the first caliph Abu Bakr, elder sister of Aisha, wife of al-Zubayr ibn al-Awwam, and mother of Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr. She is known as "Dhat al-Nitaqayn" (she of the two belts) because she split her belt in two to fasten provisions during the Hijra. She died at an advanced age in Mecca a few days after her son Abdullah was killed on 14 Jumada al-Awwal 73 AH (1 October 692), reputedly the last of the female Muhajirun to die; her grave is in Jannat al-Mu'alla. In keeping with Saudi practice, individual graves in the cemetery are unmarked.
