A Sufi regarded as the founder of the Akhī organisation and the patron (pīr) of the Anatolian craftsmen-tradesmen tradition. After periods in Denizli, Konya and Kayseri he settled in Kırşehir. His date of death is disputed; 1262 is widely cited, though later dates have been proposed.
