A great Andalusian-born Sufi, a founding figure of Maghrebi Sufism and pir of the Madyaniyya order, who influenced Ibn Arabi. He died near Tlemcen in 1198 and was buried in El Eubbad, where his tomb has been a pilgrimage center for centuries. (Sources: TDV; Wikipedia.)
